Assistant Professor of Accounting
Dr. Brett Bueltel teaches Introduction to Federal Taxation, Advanced Taxation and Individual Taxation Practicum. His research interests include how tax law and policy affect individuals, businesses and fiduciaries. He has published research articles in The ATA Journal of Legal Tax Research (an American Accounting Association journal), Tax Notes and Trusts & Estates. Also, he presented a research article at the 2018 American Taxation Association (ATA) Midyear Meeting during the ATA Journal of Legal Tax Research Conference in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Bueltel is a licensed attorney in Indiana and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He worked as a tax attorney for two years at Jackson Kelly PLLC, a law firm located in Evansville, Indiana where he focused his practice on the areas of tax, business transactions, estate planning, contracts, and general business matters.
Dr. Bueltel completed the Post-Doctoral Bridge to Business Program at the University of Florida in July 2017. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2015 and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
