Casey Pycior earned his Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also holds graduate degrees from Wichita State University (MFA in Fiction Writing) and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (MA in American Literature). Pycior's debut short story collection, The Spoils, was published in March of 2017 with Switchgrass Books / NIU Press. His writing has appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Beloit Fiction Journal, Harpur Palate, and Midwestern Gothic, among many other places. His research and teaching interests include fiction writing, the short story, creative writing pedagogy, Midwestern Literature, and contemporary creative non-fiction.
He also serves as the Fiction Editor of the Southern Indiana Review and coordinates the Southern Indiana Reading Series.
