About Me
I am committed to advancing the quality of care and betterment of the healthcare system by working collaboratively with faculty, students and community partners. I am passionate about using Health Informatics tools to improve people's lives and educate a generation of adaptive experts with a knowledge base in health informatics and health sciences. Through teaching and research, I strive to bridge the traditional academic disciplines to stimulate the multidisciplinary thinking required for current research and development in health informatics and information management. My goal is to enhance not only the knowledge base of my students, but also their ability to work interprofessionally, innovate and adapt concepts, methods, and tools from the traditional disciplines to solve current multidisciplinary problems.

Research

My research interests have centered in the area of Pharmaco/Health Informatics, in which informatics tools are being used to facilitate biomedical and health research. My work experience in both Pharmaceutical Industry and Academia facilitated the design and discovery of novel therapeutically active molecules for a series of biological systems and development of new methods and technologies for the advancement of drug discovery and oral drug delivery. Current research projects involve using Health Informatics tools to explore whether and to what extent health information technology applications increase efficiency in clinical settings.
