I earned a doctorate in Psychiatric Nursing through Indiana  University and am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. My primary research interests are in the area of mental health promotion with a special focus on children, adolescents, and young adults. Research methodology is a mixed methods approach with primary emphasis on quantitative methods. Teaching is focused in the graduate program, although I taught undergraduate psychiatric nursing for many years. My teaching pedagogy is focused on being a content expert, mentor, and motivator of students at all levels.
