About Me

 

I am a doctorally prepared nurse educator and scholar. I have 33 years of healthcare experience inclusive of clinical nursing practice, administration, education, and research. I have held a variety of positions including staff nurse, clinical educator, administrative supervisor, department manager, project director, consultant, academic nursing faculty, and program director/administrator. I am passionate about educating nursing and healthcare leaders to meet the needs of the current healthcare delivery system and contributing meaningful scholarly work to inform and impact professional nursing practice.

Research

My program of research encompasses three key foci: end of life with emphasis on post mortem nursing care, nursing leadership and health systems, and educational innovation. In addition to my own research activities I mentor and collaborate with Doctor of Nursing Practice students. I have particular interest in projects related to end of life, oncology, spirituality and spiritual care as well a leadership and health systems. I publish regularly and serve on the Editorial Review Board of Oncology Nursing Forum. I also serve on the Peer Review Panel of Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Nurse Educator, and the JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports.
