Patricia L. Marcum is an Instructor in the Kinesiology and Sport Department at the University of Southern Indiana (USI). She holds an MS in Physical Education with a Sports Administration emphasis from Eastern Kentucky University and a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana with a minor in Physical Education. Prior to becoming an Instructor at USI, Mrs. Marcum was an instructor and head volleyball coach at Hanover College where she also served as assistant softball coach, water safety instructor and modern dance advisor. She has served at USI since 1989 teaching classes in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sport Management and Teaching Physical Education majors. Mrs. Marcum’s main interests include pedagogy and motor learning.
Marcum was the recipient 2011 Jane Davis-Brezette Faculty Excellence Award and the 2000 Indiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Leadership Award. She has been an active member of the Indiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance giving numerous presentations at regional and state conferences and serving on the Regional Council. Mrs. Marcum has been a member of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance since 1992 and has given several presentations at the national convention including “Authentic Lead-up Activities that Satisfy National Standards: Skill development, Inclusion, and Continuous Physical Activity," and "Effect of 8 Week Exercise Program on Flexibility in College Students.”
