Bio

Dr. Taylor Petty earned her doctorate in psychology and her Master of Legal Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research explores racial biases in the juvenile justice system, focusing on how characteristics of the decision-maker interact with case factors to impact legal decisions. In addition to her experimental research focusing on juvenile probation decisions, she has also conducted program evaluation research for mentoring programs, Lancaster County juvenile services, and the Nebraska Probation Administration Office.

Dr. Petty specializes in criminal courts and law, specifically in juvenile and family court settings. She teaches statistics, criminological theory, criminal law, criminal procedure, and criminal courts and law. 

In her spare time, Dr. Petty enjoys completing puzzles, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and spoiling her two pups.
